Latency

Got the Kemper in yesterday. The tone is astounding. I'm noticing a very subtle latency on the pick attack. It's not bad, but it's there. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there anything I can do to resolve it?

Welcome! You can change the pick attack beheaviour playing around with the pick, definition and clarity parameter in the amp menu.

Check also your noise gate settings.

The latency is quoted as 2ms, so its probably down to the noise gate as said above.

are you monitoring the KPA directly?

that's what it takes sound to travel ~68cm in air.

I don't remember ppl noticing latency when they were standing 3 meters in front of their cab. ;)

connect the KPA directly to an active speaker and see how it feels.
I still think this might have to do with software monitoring issues.

I have the same problem but i think it is Not latency because the tones come fast and direct.
It is Hard to describe but the attack of a Tube Amp. Or the Axe fx II goes deeper.
But the Sound of the Kemper is much better than the axe

Never experienced any latency.
Can you feel it with all rigs ?

Hi there, I also recognize a tad of latency that annoys me. I tried to turn off the noisegate and played around with the attack-parameter to no avail.
When I measured the Kempers latency from input to output I got 5 ms - which is already noticeable (and considerably worse than the AxeFx´s 2 ms).
Might be a dealbreaker for me, bummer, as the unit sounds way cool...

And by the way: those 5 ms seem to be a stable figure no matter which rig I use or if I turn all effects and the amp-modeling off or not.
