More convenience managing large amounts of rigs

If you want to delete more than just a few rigs or local presets, the procedure can be time consuming on the KPA. Many users are already aware, that it is possible to unpack KPA backup archives and manage content on a PC or MAC. If you strictly follow the attached instructions, there is no risk, that you lose any of your precious sounds.

Thanks Burkhard! A Kemper-endorsed technique was needed for the less adventurous among us.

How important is it that "the file name is identical with the name of the original backup archive"? Will I do any damage if I give them more personal names? Like: "My_fat_collection.kpabackup" or "Rigs_for_sessions_with_Tony.kpabackup".

Answering my own question:
In the meantime I took all my courage in both hands and restored a file that I renamed: "Auswahl-1.kpabackup". Nothing exploded, all worked fine and I am happy.

I followed the instructions and my KPA keeps crashing when I try to restore the backup. Most times it freezes at the "Restore latest backup" screen, but once it started to restore and then crashed.
Any ideas?

I suggest, you open a support case on our home page. I'll respond and you will be able to attach and send me the suspect backup archive. Then I'll have a look. ;)
