Meshuggah - Autonomy Lost (8string cover)

Hi all!

Did a cover of “Autonomy Lost” by Meshuggah using the Kemper – it’s based on Ola’s Triple Rectifier profile but I modified it quite a bit.

Have a listen: http://soundcloud.com/pfft11/pfft11-autonomy-lost-meshuggah

Wasn’t trying to duplicate the exact sound of the original – just had my go at this great song.

Any feedback is more than welcome!

Thanks

no love for 8-strings?

A lot of rock and clean tracks in the forum - wanted to show a different side of the Kemper :)

I'm a huge Meshuggah fan... nice job!

Was the solo part you as well? I think, where he usually uses the ebo.

Also, I just had my guitar setup to "B to B"... what key do they mostly play in?

Thanks man,
Ken

Hey! I think they vary in their tunings a bit but I believe the Catch33 album is mostly in Standard F.

The solo part is me as well - in Autonomy Lost its tremolo picked meaning 16th or 32nd notes.

Thanks man! :)

Well now that is interesting! Standard F? I never heard of such a thing. What they go with extremely light strings and have their guitar setup to F?

On the contrary - they go with heavy strings and tune their 8 strings down a bit. Standard tuning for an 8 string is
F# B E A D G B E and their version afaik is dropped down half a step so that the 8th string is an F.

Cheers and hopefully this helps.
