Even if the bag looks good quality, I'm afraid for the buttons ...
I took a piece of 3 cm plastozote foam (that's the stuff they use in flightcases) and cut out holes for the knobs and buttons. So the energy of a shock (if it is not absorbed by the aluminum) would go directly to the surface plate of the KPA, not to the buttons.

No, really cute it is not. But quite useful it is! I take this and another 1 cm foam for the back side and then it fits perfect into an aluminum boardcase suitcase that I got for cheap on ebay.

I like this more than the flightcase.
  1. the knobs are better protected
  2. it is lighter than a flightcase
  3. it complies with hand luggage rules (which the flightcase does not!)
  4. there is room for additional stuff (a Pedal, cables...)
I wouldn't check this in, of course. But I wouldn't check in the flightcase either.

I ordered one of the gator bags from eBay this morning. Hoping for a good fit!

Gator bag arrived...it's a nice fit. A little bit of padding but not a ton. I just put some foam in and it's good to go.
