What is the difference between MIDI Device ID and MIDI Global Channel?

The problem:

I'm using a Musicom LAB MKIII switching pedal. As I am using some other MIDI stuuf, which used MIDI Channels 1 and 2 (Damage Comtrol TimneLine and GlassNexus) I have to use Channel 3 for PrgChanges with the KPA. I set ID to 3 and Global to Omni.
Sometimes it works, sometimes PrgChanges from Channel 1 are transmitted to the KPA.

Any suggestions?
