Noob questions

I'd like to use this thing for touring as soon as possible, so here are my Noob questions:

1) What is the latest stable update and where do I get it? The one on the /start/ page is listed as 6900.

2) Does anyone know what the expected lead time is for us to get perform mode enabled?

3) Best foot controller for the KPA? I'm liking the look of Fractal's MFC

3- Any midi controller would work, if you like the look of the MFC I would go for a Ground Control Pro instead...it cost less then half
