Vox AC30 profiling difficulty...

So I have profiled most of my amps, and saved my AC30h2l for last. For some reason with this amp, the KPA is not getting very close. After trying several profiles, and refining them varying amounts, the KPA has significantly less midrange sparkle to it, and sounds like a different amp altogether (at least in comparison to the others I profiled). I know there are some AC30 profiles in the unit, but has anyone else tried profiling one and found it difficult to get the KPA to get in the ballpark of the Vox sound? It's strange, especially since it did really well with all my other amps.

Cool. It isn't that the profiles don't sound good, it's just that they don't really sound like my Vox. Wondering why this particular amp is giving the KPA some difficulty, that's all.

I tend to agree...

I tend to agree - something about the Vox's tonal complexity is not being reproduced in the profile. I have heard a similar problem with the profiles of the Mesa Mark II and Mark IIc+.

I had trouble getting close when profiling a small, single-ended tube amp I've got. After profiling and refining I turned up the Clarity control a bit and that seemed to bring out some of the complexity in the midrange that was missing. You might give that a try.

I am now getting pretty damn close to my AC30h2l....by playing different registers when refining, it seems that the sparkle is coming through more now. There are so many settings on this amp, and 2 channels, so I wll probably end up with 60 plus profiles of it at various settings, but man it is KILLING now. Psyched! After this I will move on to an all original 1966 Fender Pro Reverb.
