Problem - Control the Stomps with external Foot Controller

I use my Boss GT-8 as a midi controller at ths time. Programm Changes work well.
Volumenpadel CC7 works perfectly.
Now I want to toggle the STOMP A with a CTRL Pedal of GT-8. I have the control pedal assigned to CC17. When I press the pedal Conrol STOMP A is turned on. As soon as I let go of the button Corntrol, STOMP A is switched off again. What am I doing wrong?

I have the same problem with my gt10..had to give up. I use my pod 500hd now and everything works perfectly. I would rather use the gt10 though, if there's a solution to this problem. I like the switches better.
