Lead Boost generates way more background noise than it needs to...

Dose anyone else feel like the Lead Boost generates way more background noise than it needs to? I like the basic sound of it, but it is actually *cutting* highs, so why the significant increase in noise? :S

It's almost like the Lead Boost and Distortions are not receiving the benefit of the noise reduction - perhaps they are before the the NR's 'sampling point'? :S
