Something must be wrong with your unit. Maybe this is the source of your issues with the sound/feeling. Clean sense setting is the key.I can't use clean sens above 0 as it clips even with single coils on a number of rigs
No, it' s just that certain rigs clip. Adjusting the clean sens doesn't impact on what we're talking about here though, trust me I've tried it. I prefer the sound (and feel) at 0 in general though, but adjusting it doesn't do anything at all with this profile to bring it into line in any way with the source sound.
I've posted an AB clip and the profile, try for yourself, guitar I used in that instance was a LP Standard.

when you say that it clips over zero do you mean at input stage ? Does the led go orange to red ?
Hi, nope just to bright green, with a hb at around 2 and sc around 7 it starts to get a tough of orange at the transients and at 5 when strumming hard with a humbucker and 9 with single coil it touches red.
it really is just that the rigs clip. If I have time this weekend I'll record examples of that too.

My KPA is absolutely the same. I use it at 7 with my Ibanez Universe with DiMarzio Blaze pickups, and it sometimes hits red but I don't see any problems with this, I don't hear any clipping going on whatsoever.Per

To be fair clipping is a sideshow here and related only to specific profiles, I don't have a problem with clipping and this particular profile either.
