Stomp Compressor noise...

I usually like to use a bit of stomp compression going into an overdriven amp profilie, but even with very mild KPA stomp comp settings, I start getting spurious noises that the normal noise gate settings can't handle - it's almost like the stomp compressor is outside of the KPA's 'NR loop'. Anyone else?

Yup. I have been noticing this lately on 1.04. Green Screamer and Mouse both do it.

Compressor into distortion/OD is a noise holiday even in real life "non digital" gear.
If its a problem use a foot volume pedal set pre effects.
Then drop the pedal to squelch noise between playing.
The best noise gate is the human brain as you know just when to duck the signal down before noise takes over.
That is what I have done for the past 30 years in the studio.

Figured out what it was. You can't have the Amplifier Compression setting too high when using stomps, this particular patch had it turned up halfway.
