Good news for iOS user (iPAd, iPhone iPod Touch) having MIDI interfaces like Alesis IO Dock or Yamaha i-MX1, you now can control the KPA via MIDI using an App.

Look at the MIDI control template for the IOS iPAD App TB Midi Stuff .

Please follow this link to the TB Midi Forum for iPAD

I just added an extended iPAD Template using NRPN commands, to be found in the TB Stuff Forum last Update Sept 23th, 12 am

and this link for the iPhone version TB Midi Forum for iPhone/iPod Touch

It´s not as nice as a pedal solution but useful if the iPAD is nearby while the KPA is far away in your rack.

But the App could be used too, to make a Prototype for the expected KP Pedalboard.

Have fun and good luck. McRalffix

Thanks for sharing your KPA TB MIDI Stuff templates!

Fabian at TB Stuff is very responsive, and is already working on Roland GR-55 control too.

yall can thank me later for doing all the begging and prodding to get the NRPN document published. :D :D :D

This thread is proof that great things will come from the ability to create interfaces to the KPA just as I predicted. My guess is that the NRPN document we have is not the full interface. I suspect the ability to change all the names of amps, cabs, etc are available also. Probably a load/dump of an entire profile via SYSEX is there too.

Am I correct, CK?

New TBMidi Skin with KPA white Background using the new V 2.0

Hey Guys

I just finished a new TB Midi Stuff skin using some of the new V 2.0 features like custom background

KPA.JPG and

KPA white TB Midi Stuff skin

If the Background Image is not loaded together with the skin, you can load it via iTunes (Apps Menue) and allocate it using the TB Midi editor.

To complete the LINK orgy have a look on the TB Midi Pages

Nice litte NRPN add ons are:

Control of Cabinet Volume
Control of Headphone Volume
Stomp Inverse
Program Switch +-1 / +-10 / +-16
Program Browser

If you tap double on a knob you will get a better knob control, including a reset to default value

It still works perfect wireless with the "missing link"

Have a try and enjoy 8)

That looks great, McRalfix! Have you implemented deep-editing for effects parameters, etc?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but when you use this with the Missing Link, is it bi-directional? Do the TB MIDI Stuff controls track the KPA settings when you navigate between rigs?

Hi mbenigni,

I am sorry but I do not understand your question.
What do you mean by "deep editing" ?
I used NRPN, Prog and CC Commands, described in the KPA MIDI Documentation.

The Missing Link box transfers OSC and Midi commands via a WiFi Interface.
I do not have any experience making the KPA sending a midi command, I did not need that up to now.

Does anybody know if the KPA sends midi signals when settings are changed using the knobs for example?

What works fine is, to pass midi commands through the box by WifI and cable (the FCB1010 Pedal is connected IN/TROUGH by midi cable) OUT to the KPA.
The KPA control is done using an iPAD with the TB Midi Stuff App (and the provided skin) connected via WiFi to the Missing Link WiFi Signal.

So at the moment the signals come unidirectional from iPad and FCB1010 to the Missing Link Box and then to the KPA

Dumb question: is there any NRPN application out there for a mac user? Maybe with the option to change the skin of the whole application as you did?
