Just wondering if anyone has managed to get Eric's tone from Cliffs of Dover and if so they would share how they did it

Well have spent a few hours trying to get close but am failing miserably, maybe I picked a hard tone to emulate for a first go lol

Try this...
WE chased a EJ tone for a bit in the studio for some guy that was doing cover recordings for this artist..
We ended up using a bright rig.. (Fender) as he used them anyway...
Rolled the tone of the guitar to midway, and raised the definition of that amp to pretty much full..
Gave it plenty of gain, and used the neck pickup (also might want to raise the Clarity knob too)
Pre-EQ roll off about 300-400K, but raise around 2500 but a few DB's
Post EQ Cut the Lower Mids a bit (160ish-200hz)That will get you in the ballpark, at least it did for us.. but YMMV! of course
I wish you luck! -
That's great thanks for your help will give that a try
P.s what's YMMV ?

Hi mate, how's it going with the Kemper? Bought that Bogner Goldfinger and the Evil Robot yet?

Hey there buddy, absolutely blown away by it, tried for 1st time today with some backing tracks couldn't believe how good it sounded, not bought those profiles yet will do still going through the on board sounds, we must get together soon compare notes lol. Wouldn't mind hearing that Yamaha again before shelling out for one if you free sometime

Really going to need a delay for the stomp section { Soon to be I hope} for a nice EJ sound.

Yup, delay before the reverb is an absolute must (and on the KPA wish list). And of course a Marshall JTM 1966 (check out Andy's packs).
