ok, back home and updated my JTV59.
-12 Strings sound a little bit better
-Volume of models and real PU about equal
-No more volume increase when I turn down the tone knob
-All models sound better for my ears
-Tele much better
-Strat a little bit better
-Loaded the new 89 Models - like it
-Workbench looks great
... have to play with the Workbench the next days
A great free update
I will get a 89 soon. I wonder if i will be able to get a raw distorsion.
Have you compared with the old variax? (500)
JTV is IMHO much better than the old Variax - but still not as good as a real great guitar.
Similar to the KPA - but IMHO is the KPA much closer to the real amps then the Variax is to the real guitars.
The new firmware 2.0 is a great improvement.
Thanks for the update. I just got an 89 to gut for a lefty. I'm still a little up in the air about it . Will try the update befor I gut this thing
The lester on the bridge pickup has 98% the same sound than the magnetic bridge pickup.
Could you post the link here, I can't find it ont the Line6 site.
Thanks
People chime in that the tone cap has wrong values but if you set a 2.2nf for the les paul the tone pot becomes useless.

All I did is to download the latest Line6 Monkey, connect the Variax via the USB-Interface and connect a guitar cable.
The Monkey will find and update the latest firmware and Workbench HD version.
