I have been thinking about some of my favorite solos ever recorded and was inspired to give this one a shot. I have always loved Hitch a Ride's outro lead. IMO, one of the best rock solos recorded. I used my Anderson Bulldog and Kemper Marshall JTM45 profile for the gain tones. I used a modified version of Ola's clean profile for the "acoustic" parts. I used just a bit of reverb for the gain tones.
I recorded it in standard tuning even though it was originally done in one half step up. I tried to use the Amazing Slow Downer but I thought it made it sound more processed. Soundcloud compresses the track/tones enough. Man, it was some work double and triple tracking some of leads to sound good together. Hope you like!
