Constant Latency

  • Hi

... Output ....page 5/5 there is Constant Latency parameter ...
Can somebody explain ... what this one does?

    Thanx

  • When not active the latency is automatically kept at the lowest (but variable) possible value depending on the DSP load. Very good playing live, less when overdubbing (phasing), therefore the option for a constant (but higher) latency is available for recording purposes.

  • When Kemper noticed each rig had a latency of its own (due to different processor engagements), they decided to give users the possibility to have all the rigs with the same (highest) latency, so that reamping and layering the same track(s) with different rigs did not create issues.
Since it's used for reamping only, the (slightly) higher latency is not an issue. When playing a guitar in real time you might want to be sure to set it off.
