Hello, everyone. I currently have a Kemper rack with a Mesa 2:90 power amp plus a Mesa Recto 2x12 cabinet woth v30's. I am happy with the sounds I am getting but am planning to buy an FRFR cabinet to expand what I get from the Mesa Cabinet. I am looking into buying an Atomic Reactor passive 1x12. Does anyone have any experience with that cabinet? I am looking into buying it based on reviews as I really cant try the cabinet. I like the fact that it looks like a regular guitar cabinet and I can place my rack on top of it. I just need to know if the sound would be comparable to that of a CLR. Do you think the CLR would be a much better option soun-wise? All your help is appreciated

I have used the Atomic FRFR line both cabs and wedge for several years.
They DON'T compare to the CLR, in fact they are far inferior IMO.
While they are decent solutions I wouldn't buy them again at this point in time with what's available otherwise.
Plus they are discontinued.
Plus the in-built tweeter squeaks at high levels. If you want the best go for the CLR, (you can also try the Matrix Q12a line and the Camplifier series by KPA-solutions.com as comparable IMO).
For a more budget but still very good sounding solution try the YAMAHA DXR 10. -
Hi, welcome
No doubt the CLR is not only the best bang for the buck, but the best sounding loudspeaker system you can buy under 2000 €.
They also make a cab (not wedged) version, both active and passive. For the best results, the power amp has to be very transparent. You might want to consider the active cab with its optimized internal power amp

I have the 2010 frfr powered wedge mentioned here. Obviously it's inferior to the CLR, but how about the dxr 10? Will it even compare to that?

No, or clearly is inferior to the DXR 10.

Bought it the atomic fr last summer before I got the Kemper. Bad decision on my part. Could have gotten the dxr instead for what I paid if I would have done more research. Oh well, they are luxury items right now since I'm too busy to play out. I use my studio monitors along with the atomic at home with decent results, especially for tweaking profiles.

The Atomic looks killer though...

Hey, it's not a bad cab at all.
I'd recommend thinking about selling it though because they don't seem to keep their value that much since the CLR is out.
But OTOH: if you like it keep it. -
Thanks for the advice! Maybe I should sell.

Like Ingolf said, if you like the sound of it, no need to get rid of it.

You know, if I just don't bother checking out a dxr, or clr for that matter, then my ears won't know any better... Haha!! Sounds pretty good to me....
