Warren Haynes tone... Any advice?.

  • Hi guys,

I wonder if any of you have tried to replicate Warren Haynes' sound?, I mean that rich fat Les Paul tone with lots of sustain and the bright biting sound he gets from his non reverse firebirds...

Here are two samples of the kind of sounds I'm trying to replicate:

I know he uses mostly modded Soldanos and also a Diaz, I've tried some Soldano rigs but it's not quite there...

By the way I'm using a Warren Haynes Signature Les Paul, so guitar wise it should be pretty close.

Thanks for any ideas and advice.

  • andy at amp factory has a couple of soldanos in his collection, recommend you start there, his profiles are fantastic

definitely! I'm endorser of Andy's profiles for both live and studio purposes. I suggest though to look also at the rig exchange: some of them are really pro stuff.........just search for soldano and you will get various........and don't forget our forum since in the link to your music section there are several clips of available profiles.

  • After 25 & 15 years respectively, 2014 will the last year Warren & Derrick play for the Allman Bros. they both have handed in their notice.

I've always wanted to get Warren's Leslie tone. I had a Lex, which I loved, but it just doesn't seem as rich as his Rotosphere.

Besides the amps mentioned, he uses a PRS Super Dallas, which is basically a 60's Plexi.

I know he uses a Klon, and switches between the three amps.

If anyone has a great Leslie tone, I would love it! Thanks!
