Using a Looper, silly question.

HI guys,

I've never used a looper, and I'm considering buying a Ditto Looper as I have read great reviews and excellent feedback from users.

The idea is being able to lay two or three layers of rithm guitar, fills or even (if this is possible) some sort of bassline using some kind of detuned guitar sound.

I'd appreciate your suggestions on how to use it properly... Do I have to run it through the loop of the KPA? Shoud I connect it directly to the line input of my DXR10?...

I'm sorry if this sounds dumb but I have no experiece whatsoever with these devices...

You can either use it in the loop (x-slot) of your profiler or after the profiler. Both is possible.
I prefer the loop.

Yeah, loopers are always inspiring, especially when you play on your own.
I'm using a JamMan delay looper once in a whle with my profiler

i use mine after the kpa.. i use a small mixer, sends to the mixer and then inserts out to the looper and back to a second set of channels and set my loop levels separate.

You need to experiment to see what is best for you. If you use the post amp effects for particular sounds you may prefer to use it after the profiler like I do. You probably know the Ditto is a mono looper, but this may be something to consider if yor using 2 Dxr10's. If that's the case the jamman express or upcoming ditto x 2 may be a better option.

+1 on what Delinquent said. I bought the express xt because it's stereo and runs on a 9V, which the Ditto doesn't. Or wait for the X2.

I'm really happy with the xt. It sounds great (which all loopers don't) and 10 minutes of record time is nicely excessive.

I should mention that at home I have a stereo setup, and my xt looper is stereo, but I normally just run the looper off of one side of the outputs, otherwise in mono, and the looped material is just on one side. I like just using the one side, it sounds good.

Does XT suffer the same " tone suck " issue as Jamman Stereo? If yes, how much it's noticeable with KPA ?

Digitech got the Express XT right, it's true bypass, and overdub after overdub retains clarity. Something the original JamMans are not good at.
Digitech has been updating the JamMans, so a recent Solo is better than an old Solo in this regard.
I haven't tried the Delay one, but I think those were good from the get-go.
