So I noticed that whenever I do an update all of my favorites keep disappearing, which is obviously frustrating. I ASSUME (please confirm) that now that we can tag favorites in the Rig Manager they will stay marked as favorites when updating. Also, I still cannot get my direct out to have a signal without doing a factory reset, which also erases my favorites. Anyone know anything about this?
Are Favorites supposed to keep disappearing with updates?

I have not experienced this issue so far. If you have done an update prior to updating you can restore and the favs should be back.
-
I got the same problem.
Today after using the new firmware + the rig manager, all my favourites were deleted.
But don't get me wrong.
I'm in love with the rig manager.Edit :
It was my mistake !
I've chosen another name in the rig-manager, than the name in my kemper.
That's way my favourites disappeared.
Changed the name again -> it works now !Sorry

Checked my Profiler, all favs are there.

But if I restore won't that take me back to the old OS? -
I just did the OS update for a second time. All of my favorites are gone. Bummer.
-
Check to see if your name is set correctly on your KPA. The way the favorite flag works is if the favorite name in the rig matches the favorite name you set on your kemper, then that rig will be considered your favorite.
-
I also lost my favorites after update but I just restored the backup and they're all there. A good practice is to always backup.
-
Weren't there new rigs added with the OS update? Wouldn't a restore remove any new rigs?
-
1) Haven't had this issue
2) You should do a backup before any new firmware installs
3) If you lost your favorites, you SHOULD be pissed, and you don't have to apologize or express undying loyalty and love to/for your Kemper.
It was bad, let it know that. Set some limits and you'll have a good long-term relationship. -
But if I restore won't that take me back to the old OS?No, backup only restores content and settings.
-
No, backup only restores content and settings.
Well then that's what I will do - I ALWAYS backup, but thought that restoring would remove new rigs added afterwards and roll back the OS. But I did go into many of my rigs with the new rig manager and changed a bunch of tags - will restoring reset those to the previous tags? -
Yes. I would do this: Sort location Profiler by date, create a new folder in RM and copy the newly tagged ones to this. Restore, then sort out the rigs that you had retagged and replace them with the new ones.

The favourite setting depends on your owner name, which must be set when you start the profiler the first time. The name shouldn't vanish over an update. Can you describe what you are doing when applying an update?
I never had a single event where I "lost my favourites".

Just FYI: OS update doesn't add any new rigs automatically. Only manually when you hit the factory content soft button.

I'm in love with the rig manager.I doubt, that anything got deleted! Not the rig and not even the favourite flag.
But you need to be aware, that the favourite flag is linked to your owner name! Favourite rigs of owner A are not automatically favourite rigs of owner B and vice verse. Whenever you start Rig Manager it is offering to set the owner name in any connected Profiler to the name maintained in the preferences of Rig Manager. If you don't accept that, Profiler and Rig Manager might run with different owners and will therefor reflect different favourite lists.
When you follow the update process as described in the manuals the owner name will not be touched and therefor the favourites will stay intact.

Also - I think our user names are CasE SeNSITivE. So, it needs to be an exact match.
If you make your user name in RM match exactly what is in your Kemper, your favorites will be there (mine were, anyway...)
