Can we just install over the "old" beta version or do we have to deinstall first,
will the cmpl import from the rig exchange be done again or the new version uses what
has already downloaded?
thanks

You can install over the old version, the only downside is that you increase the list of installed programs in the Windows control panel.
The already downloaded rigs from Rig Exchange won't be lost. -
After which you can simply uninstall the old version. Just tried it, rig database was not affected.

So, is the preferred method to install the new version first, then uninstall the previous version?Or, will we still have the downloaded rigs from Rig Exchange if we uninstall the previous version before installing Beta #2?
-
if you uninstall first, you will still have the Rig Exchange cached. uninstall does not delete it. it is up to you if you like to keep things tidy and uninstall first or install over an earlier version. both works.

All data will still be there, if you uninstall the previous version first or just install the next one, no worries, go ahead.

Where are located the profiler's rigs?
They are not in the .db file and i'm surprised that my 700 profiles are now synchronised in a breath. -
Much quicker with rig exchange communication. Will be checking if the lock up when editing and saving/synching rigs to the Kemper is still happening for me. Definitely helps with sampling and editing.

didn't get to try it out too much last night, but here's some things I noticed that really help my workflow:
- when you import a new rig, all the local folders remain in their current collapsed/expanded state. previously they would all expand, which is a little nerve-wracking if you rely on them as heavily as i do.
- using the up/down arrow keys in the left-hand navigation pane doesn't automatically tab over to the rig list when you select a folder that is non-empty. this is quite helpful.however, double-clicking on folders is still opening new windows, rather than just collapse/expanding a folder. still using the left/right arrow keys for now (which is actually preferable to me anyway).
