Welcome tom. You will love the KPA!
-
Welcome, you won't look back....
-
Right know I am looking forward getting it. Delivery is scheduled for June....
-
Looks like I will get my Kemper today. Let's see if I will be able to get it ready for a gig next weekend.
It could be like
1 clean sound (Twin / Bassman) with additional wah
1 crunch sound (AC30, additional Trem)
1 lead sound (Fuchs / Bogner / ?)
1 lead solo sound
Let's see... -
Welcome Tom,
You're gonna love being in Kemperland. There are literally hundreds of versions of everything you're looking for.For clean Bassman sounds I highly recommend LERNOULD Thierry's outstanding Fender Bassman and Supersonic profiles. You'll find them on the Rig Exchange. I'm blown away by his Clean and Sparkle Drive Bassman. Check 'em out, you won't be sorry and they're FREE!

Tom, for an AC 30 I'd recommend the factory 69 profile or the factory AC bridge profile (forgot the name, but normal channel and top boost are bridged).
Also you absolutely MUST check out the Morgan AC20 profile which is still my favourite AC 30. -
Thanks for the recommendations. Kemper is standing next to me... I just came back from the store...
-
After checking out the original presets I can say: The 69 profile is one of my favourites. Good taste Ingolf!
-
Thank you, Tom!

Ingolf,
Are you tweaking the Morgan AC20 at all? I hear over and over how it's a favorite of many, but to me, it's really good, but not my top 10. So I'm either not tweaking it right, or else, my ears like something different.
For example, the Vox AC 15 HW on the Free Exchange is to me the bomb in Vox chime, in-the-room feel, and superb crunch. I've been able to authentically re-create Revolver Beatle tones with it. I can't do what with the AC20.
I guess I'm asking for a bit of an education in how to use the AC20 properly, with what guitars, and what should it sound like in famous commercial tones I haven't an ear for?

db, I'm happy with the Morgan AC20 profile as is. I don't need to tweak it at all, using mainly Strats and Teles.
What you can experiment with: the original profile has the cab parameters tweaked heavily, making for a slightly phasey sound (not on a bad way).
To me bringing these to default values makes the rig even better. -

At least, if not more...
