I need a cheap interface with an spdif in for reamping with the kemper (it arrives tomorrow) I looked at some behringer one for 30$ but it only has an spdif optical out. From what i know i need an spdif input for reamping right? I already have a pod ux1 interface, yet it doesn't have the spdif i need. I'm not interested in spending 200$ or more for an interface just to use the spdif in. Any suggestions? Whats the easiest and cheapest way to do this?

I am confused ...you got a 2000 dollar amp and probably tons of gear and you want to cheapen out on a good interface? Each component in your chain matters....

So your current interface has no spdif capabilities...what is it's specs?
I don't think you can get an I/O with spdif under 400 bucks. Try the PreSonus Audiobox1818VSL

Yeah its the pod ux1 interface. Ive upgraded to the kemper. Should have it tomorrow but am weary that i found out i needed spdif to be able to reamp in the best quality. I guess its time to ditch the ux1 entirely. I assumed there was maybe some kinda usb thing that had spdif in on it for less than 200$ Its not that im cheap its just that........... im cheap

Cheapest I saw is the Lexicon Omega...150 bucks or the PreSonus Firstudio Mobile 250 bucks

I don't think you can get much cheaper than that without getting a really shitty product. Behringer might have something for coaxial SPDIF, but they've also got Behringer's quality control on the job, so.... yeah. If your UX1 is decent, which I've heard they are, you aren't going to notice a huge difference going from analog to SPDIF anyway.
And no, you don't need SPDIF to reamp with your Kemper. It's a hell of a lot easier though, since the cables and everything can stay set up all the time versus having to move a few 1/4" cables around. Depending on your setup, it would like something like this:
KPA Monitor Out --> Interface Input
Interface Output (preferably a spare one, if you've got it) --> Kemper Front InputYou'll have to do some adjusting of levels in your DAW, on your interface, and in the KPA to make sure nothing is clipping, but that's it.

Esi u24 xl 24bit usb interface at about 80 euros new.
Works well here with Vista 64 bit version and takes very little space.
A cheap one to avoid is the Akai EIE. Had all kinds of clicks and pops in recordings and returned it after few days. -
