Problems with the 5th string of a bass?

Hi guys !

Everytime, i'm playing my 5 string bass, i got the following problem :
The lowest string ( b-string) kind of doesn't "fit" in the whole sound.
It's like the kemper got a problem with the low tones.
The 4 upper strings are more distorted and sound much fresher.
I tried another bass + other strings + other profiles and still got this problem.
(Even the distortion/clean sens doesn't solve that).
I also tried the bass guitars with a real bass amp, and there everythings fine.

Is there a way to solve this ?
Has anyone else encountered this problem?

BTW : A friend of mine got the same issue with a 'high-end' warwick bass

I hope we'll be able to enjoy the whole tone range with our kemper amps, soon .

My 4 string squire sounds much better than my 5 string. Both are cheap.

although the KPA struggles to tune that low B i really think its down to being a cheaper £250 bass!!

Haven't had any problems with my five-string, other than the smaller strings being much louder than the lowest two. That's definitely an issue with the bass though.

Could be the speakers connected to the KPA - did you try to use the bass via another preamp or di-box connected to the same poweramp/speakers?

Same for me, Cort Arona 5 here.

Is the low B-string from the same string set? Just a thought.

Hi. I'm playing the kemper with spidf into a roland octa capture.
The octa capture is connected to 2x yamaha hs80m + a krk sub.

The string are brand new (D'addario).
I changed the string first ( i thought it was because of the strings)

I kempered a basstrack tuned down to drop a month ago, worked really well!
4 string sandberg, skullstrings and I think it was Ampeg dirt 2 from the amp factory we ended up using.

Cort Action 5 Deluxe: got similar problems with the KPA-sound, used for direct recording out of the KPA into the mix-console
Ibanez 4 string: no problems, but also no glory by the KPA, same use as above
I take the bass-opportunity only as a nice gift to the GUITAR-Amp-Rigulator!

A friend help the to solve this problem.
It is easier as it seems and it was my fault

The lowest bass string was a bit 'higher' above the pickup/fretboard than the others.
