Great! Now you can get back to playing.
How did you get it working? Would be good to know for everyone's future reference.

I've seen this recently with a cheap non-brand name USB key. The KPA wouldn't recognize it, but my computer did.
Bought a Kingston USB key, and no issues with the KPA. Maybe it doesn't like the really cheap ones? I don't know...
Just a quick update: my sticks ceased to be recognized for good. Sweetwater was very kind and sent me a new KPA ASAP (what a great company to deal with, btw!). It works like a charm (at least 2 days in), so thanks Ingolf for suggesting I contact my distributor!

Oh, did I really? Glad it works for you now!
Good to hear you have it sorted out. I'm sure you bought it to play music and not fiddle around with USB sticks.

The real Sages can act subliminally if they want to
Hi guys, new user here but I think I managed to solve the problem this morning.
I had two flash drives that the KPA didn't pick up at all, but I managed to solve the problem by formatting the flash drive as FAT (not FAT32). I had to do this using the command prompt (I used this link: http://www.instructables.com/i…-usb-memory-stick-to-FAT/, just be careful to format the right drive otherwise you might wipe your system drive or something!!). The flash drive was some cheapie corporate gift type flash drive, 4gb capacity. I think the format was done in 64k blocks.
I should note mention that my issue with the flash drives occured prior to me connecting the KPA to my PC using a USB cable. So it might be possible that the issue resolved itself due to me connecting the KPA to the PC and not the FAT formatting.
In either event, I thought I'd share my fix just in case it helps someone in the future.
Tried a Lexar stick...no joy...cheap brand...no joy. I can only assume that Kemper have shares in the companies producing these sticks. I wonder what number of sticks Kemper feel is reasonable to go through before they come up with a system that is not as neanderthal as the current one...?

look at the amount of replies in this thread which started in 2014 and you'll realise that there's not a real problem here. why don't you just contact support by email and let them help you out?
I know this is an old thread but I had the same problem. Setting the Kemper to "tuner" solved the problem. Suddenly the thumbdrive was recognised.

i'm pretty sure this was just a coincidence. I'm closing this old thread now. feel free to open a new one or contact support through the contact form on our website.
