Greeting, all! My name is Patrick and I just recently acquired a lightly used KPA head through a gear exchange Facebook group.
I'm 28 right now, been playing guitar since I was 15. I'd been a long time user of Line6 products, starting with the Spider 2 amp, then I got the POD xt, and a few years ago I purchased the POD HD desktop (bean) soon after they were released. I was admittedly very disappointed with the POD HD's offerings when it comes to metal (I mostly play/write thrash and death metal) as I had put many hours into trying to get a good, tight metal tone. I have also owned a few tube heads through the years - Bugera 6260 was the first, then a Peavey 5150 blockletter, and I currently own a 6505+. After my disappointment with Line6, I was making arrangements to get either a loadbox or an iso-cab so I could use my Peavey to record with, but a few days ago I was browsing the aforementioned Facebook group and saw a KPA head in like-new condition being sold for a very, very good price. It just arrived yesterday, and I have enjoyed playing around with it so far. It came loaded with some of Fluff's profiles and I can honestly say that this is exactly what I needed to get the tone I desire for recordings, which I plan to start on soon.
Anyway, as for other stuff: I'm currently a truck driver. I was playing in a groove metal/hard rock band a few years ago and got into financial trouble (getting a credit card at 21 wasn't a very good idea, and using it to buy my gear was an even worse idea) and had to quit my band, get my CDL, and start driving to pay my debts off. After 4 years of hard work I'm finally debt free, so I'm currently saving to relocate to Oregon (currently living in Indiana), transition into a different line of work, and hopefully be able to start being an actual musician again.
I still write music a lot and record as I'm able (which isn't often as I usually have to be in "that mood" to be able to record efficiently, and it takes a lot of time and beer for me to get in "that mood"), so I'll be certain to share more tunes as i have them available.
I only have two tracks together (both nearly a year old) that I would want anybody to hear, so here's my Soundcloud, which is where I'll be posting anything in the future.
