I have used Space since it was introduced and have never had this issue, I use it on the main outs. Do you only hear it through the headphone output
Headphone space crackle noise with FW 2.7

I hear the same thing on my unit, only with headphones. no solution yet.
Could it be that you're clipping your HPs? What impedance are they, and does it happen with very low Ring and HP/Master volumes settings as well?
-
Bummer! Good to know it aint just me, crappy as that sounds
Definitely not my phones. I tried 3 diff sets, Sennheiser hd580, Beyer dynamic Dt 770pro, Tascam thmx2. The recording I made was headphone out direct to my lq56 and the vol of the kemper phones out is -10.. Strange because with the headphone space box un-ticked, (regular space) on 10 it doesn't do it, or atlas I can't hear it. Anyone else check theirs? Its ok, necro-posting is legit.....:)

I have the same exact problem. Latest firmware, all sets of headphones ( I got 5 different) and the crackle is there on headphone output.
-
I was about to create a thread for this..
I experienced this yesterday evening with the "headphone space" option enabled.
At first I didn't realize it was the space. I was just playing and during vibrato I would hear this rattle as if some high frequency was bouncing off the walls.
At first I thought it'd be the Pure Cab doing this, but after turning off headphone space it disappeared.
Whats strange is while Space itself is engaged but not "headphone space", which I assume disables Space from non-headphone output, I don't get this rattle.
As soon as I switched off headphone space the rattle disappeared, without me changing the value of the Space parameter itself. So I can, atleast in my case, rule out any hardware glitch or anything wrong with headphone port or the headphones themselves.
I cannot seem to recreate this right now...PS: I am on the latest firmware.
PS2: Shouldn't this thread be in the issues subforum ? -
-
I did earlier thinking it'd go away but the bug is still there.
If i turn on headphone space the high frequency rattle is there. Once I turn it off it disappears. It doesn't always happen though, even on the same profile.I'll try recreating it later and recording it...

Did you ever figure this out as I'm having the same issue with 3.2.1?
-
I can also attest that I have the same problem with mine, on 3.2.1.
Also, the Headphone Space option changes the sound of the main output. I thought this was a bit strange as well. -
Also, the Headphone Space option changes the sound of the main output.
There's a tick box above the space parameter in the output menu to enable/disable this for the main outs. -
I did email support and sent a file but so far no major progress and the support personnel was not able to reproduce the issue.... However if multiple people have same problem it reassures me a bit more that it is not an isolated hardware malfunction but potentially something fixable in code -- especially if for som people the problem showed up only with more recent firmware upgrades

Do you mean this tick box? This is the one I was referring to. Or, is there another button that I haven't found? -
Yes, this is the tick box I mean. One of the two settings is for disabling space in the main outs (don't know which atm, but it is covered somewhere in the manual).

IIRC ticking the headphone space box turns it off on the main outs

Ive got the same issue,
tick Space on for headphone in the output menu and there is the crackle, take it off no crackle
If Space is off in the output menu and you put Space in the X or MOD slot you can get the effect of Space but not have the crackle -
Is headphone space different than normal space? If so, how?

It's exactly the same

Ffaik turning on headphone space disables the space effect from the main outs and enables it just on the headphone output.. But it seems to introduce some sort of high frequency reflections or "crackle" on the headphone output when it is enabled.

Unfortunately, both functions are affecting both of my outputs. I leave it on "space" and it works fine. With the Headphone option on, it's popping like everyone else's.
