My guess is:
They used 1/4" jacks for the monitor and power amp outputs because that connector is typically used by guitarists for line and speaker cables. -
Maybe but then the main outs should be tele to. Not a big deal but still. Have to have a converter to use My genelec and a LOT of high end speakers only have xlr. If the monitor out should be used on stage then i Would prefer the benefits of the xlr aswell.
Btw, i played the kemper direct into 2 genelec 8260a speakers the other day. That Was crazy !

Well, monitor out is conceived in order to use a power amp and a cab, so the 1/4" is OK IMO. Main outs are meant for the mixing desk, and since there may be a long distance to cover XLR (a balanced line in general) seems a good choice.
As for monitors, those I've been seen and using, either come with their cables or accept 1/4" as well as XLR.
-
This. The professional cabs accept both.
-
What works and what Would be good are 2 different things (-: most Stage monitors Maybe take both but not all . studio monitors does not. All genelecs in the 4 series and up for instance use xlr only . Also on stage with a LOT of interferance , lights, and stuff that makes noice i rather have a ballanced cable. As i Said , not a big deal but not the best solution for me a least.

The 8030 I bought came with their 1/4"-XLR cables.
Anyway, for a balanced line you don't have to use XLRs
Too bad the Profiler's 1/4" Main out are unbalanced -
Well 8030 is the 3 series. The 4 series =8040 and up does not have RCA /1/4" . Only xlr input. The yamaha dxr8 only take xlr aswell.
Yes i know but WHOs using a ballanced 1/4 " cable realy (-: They are just as vierd as the Inch , yards or stone system. Hail the metric system (-: -
Neither the 8030, they have XLR as well.
I use balanced 1/4" cables everytime I have two devices with balanced 1/4" sockets
-
, haha ive never seen such a device

The main outs have TS, too.
you should connect monitor speakers there. All active stage monitors have TS inputs available. I cannot see a drawback at all.

If you don't want to use adaptors on the cables, use a D.I. Box in between.

1/4 TRS balanced definitely the way to go when you can! I too wish they had combo XLR/TRS jacks for balanced outputs on the mains on the Kemper as well.
