yes - this is it. you have to connect one leg of the CR1 to the other leg of the same diode with some wire.

Thanks Damian, you've been a great help.

There are also still no profiles to try

I'm ready to give up profiling this amp. I've jumped CR1 to CR2 the noise increases as expected. Now the Kemper is telling me the noise level is too great to profile. I've engaged ground lifts on my DI box etc and the only way I can get it to take a profile is with the gain around 2 with no boost in the front end. Any higher and it won't work. I only want the gain on 4 in the crunch channel, I'm not using any ridiculous amount gain like a 13 year old death metal fan would when starting off in their bedroom haha. Also when it does profile it literally still sounded nothing like the real amp back through the same cab, more like a very uncontrolled in the lows fuzzed up stoner doom guitar sound as if the clarity was right off and the definition is at like 1.0 which to be fair it is after the profiling. I can't think anywhere I may be going wrong.

Ignore me over the noise. Stupidly is too kyle ground lift off the direct out on the Kemper
-
Right guys thanks for all your help it's all working now. Definitely time to either fit a switch or a 1 meg pot in this amp to disable the noise reduction as currently out of its chassis with a wire across the diodes everytime I want to make profile just isn't practical haha.

Same problem here But its job for my friend Razor - and maybe also few new mods

Mod Works! Now Amp can be profiled right!

Still need to do this to mine. Right mess on to keep taking it out of the casing to keep jumping wires across everytime haha.

Maybe there are really different productionlines. I had zero issues with mine...but mine is also pretty noisey in crunch + ultra

serielnr: 51003306I did not know they were doing other versions of this amplifier - the more that older amp wit pre 51003306 SN have the NR circuit.
But who knows? -
Hi,
Just asked on Peavey Forum lets wait for answer.Stay Metal!

Having Lars' Triple XXX pack I can confirm there were definitely no issue profiling his amp, however mine and Gregors are literally impossible to profile without doing a mod like this. I can only think something with the noise reduction circuit must have changed at some point down the line.

Wll....
QuoteTechnically, there is no noise gate on this amp, it's at best "noise reduction circuitry" and it's only on the crunch and ultra channels. All versions of the Triple XXX and even the newest 3120 amps have it as part of it's circuitry's signal path, even the old JSX and newest Triple XXX II have it but it's adjustable and actually called a "noise gate". The "noise gates" are but merely diodes in the circuitry of the crunch and ultra channels that eliminate most of the background noise and amp hum present on most high gain amps, unlike the 5150/6505 series amps that have none.(and are quite noisy even when not playing with lots of gain dialed in!) Again, they are not true noise gates though mind you, they will not cut off the signal beyond a certain threshold, they only eliminate low level amp hum and background noise. Anything beyond that and you'll probably want a real noise gate pedal or rack unit IMHO, like the ISP Decimator.
Now if you are having what you feel are abnormal amounts of noise from the amp, I'd check out your guitar's electronics and shielding, your pedals and their power sources(power bricks near cables and speakers can introduce hum and noise into your signal) and also the amp's preamp and even power amp tubes for microphonics,(squealing feedback or excessive hum) a sign they are going bad.
Anyway, hope this helps, good luck!

My kemper never warned me about noisegate while profiling and all profiles are fine. Marco Cudan also had no problems
-
Mine flagged up telling me a noise gate was on every time haha.
-
I believe you its strange
I will upload the next days a free Studioprofil
-
I think you need to dismantle it and show us a photo of where the diodes are or should be in your's Lars haha.

why? I can shoot a video while profiling if anyone needs proof like Gregor
btw 5 persons sended me chat messages were Gregor says mine are fake profiles Very nice Gregor
very interesting to know with which amp i could fake the unique character of the XXX
But sorry..i forgot "all amps sound the same" haha
very childish! -
