I've had mine for nearly 2 years I think... I STILL haven't spent time tweaking EQ or anything. Sounds fantastic

i've spent lots of time tweaking and trying to dig into it, and I find most of the time, you get better results just combing through the available profiles out there. If a profile isn't 90% there without tweaking, I toss it out. ...and I still have way too many rigs than to know what to do with.
That said, profiles are quite tweakable - you can pre-EQ them, or add a boost, or dig into the amp profile's parameters and it still sounds like a real amp. it doesn't get plasticky until you get to trying to do some extreme stuff...the same stuff that might make a real amp sound fake.

Congratulations It only gets better as it ages and becomes more vintage

There have been some rigs that I'm not too impressed with that when I make one simple change it becomes gold. That goofy Space FX? Shut off the space and it's pretty cool! Some of my favorite dirty patches on Day 1 were the Country ones with the gain cranked. It's a good way to learn with the KPA can do. Then give yourself a week of playing and fire up Rig Manager... And let me know when you come up for air! I'm still having fun exploring profiles.

My approach exactly. I've my go-to tones saved into performances, and then unleash my lust by trying every possible position and combinations in the pool

Congratulations on taking the plunge. When I bought my Kemper, it was like falling in love, except I never fell out afterward
