Kemper Powerrack Gig Volume

    What volume are you guys pushing at a live gig ? I know at rehearsal I'm around 5.1,but with bodies etc im sure it would be higher
    my concern is whether or not my cab would take much more volume ,I'm running a Port City with 2 x12 V30 from the speaker factory.

    I think for most of us "gig volume" is more than you would play at home alone. I know for me after I dial in a tone I like I turn it up to listen to hear it. For the most part I use an FRFR and know in live use the volume is mostly at a certain setting. Gig volume depends on where you play and how loud you play.

    FOH gets -15 dB from me.
    For personal monitoring there are several factors responsible for final loudness.
    When running a passive speaker: the sensitivity of the speaker.
    When running an active speaker: sensitivity of the speaker plus power of its poweramp.
    So running on '5.1’ like you described above can be everything from not too loud to very loud.
