FW 3.0 - opinions?

    Haven't updated yet, but the changelog really gets me excited.
    On the utilitarian front we have both support for the Kemper Remote and some greatly needed extra MIDI capabilities for existing users (Thanks, Timo!),
    another decrease in switching time, although i've no complaints eversince the previous update,
    and some general streamlining which - much like a pushbutton ignition in a car - isn't really important but makes you all warm and fuzzy inside, knowing you have it :)


    I still need to mess with merged profiles, so i can't comment but this is obviously a big deal -
    but let me just stress how awesome it is to have aux in feed into S/Pdif (!!!) so i can finally jam without actually running a DAW. That's awesome.
    Now just let us profile via S/Pdif in and i swear i'll start opening more informative threads in the future.

    Well, 3.0 beta loaded fine on my Kemper whiteface. Bootup seems slowish but I don't really care about that. I went to my favorite JMP77-01 profile and played it a bit and it seemed a bit nicer, but not a large difference if any.


    I guess my question is for someone that doesn't have a normal amp setup to hook in here, is there any real changes to check out? I get you can combine amp and cabinet profiles correctly now but I am not clear how to find/pick those profiles.

    Mine are exactly the same greenish color they have always been...

    Will test it in the next days.


    I will make some DI profiles to check if they work well with 3rd part pro IRs (Ownhammer, ...).


    If they feel and sound great, I would be time to make an extensive DI pack of my IIC+. For the moment I only scratched the surface of the amp... but I have a lot of mods (Hetfield mod, Petrucci mod, Mark4 mod) I didn't have time to explore...
