FW 3.0 is going to generate a lot of confusion as far as what kind of profile any profile actually is. Relying on the author to store this in a free form tag or the rig name will be inconsistent and bloat rig names unnecessarily.
My suggestion is to make the available types selectable during the profiling session, which is then stored in a new profile type tag that cannot be edited after the fact.
So the profile author would choose between
• Studio Profile (default) (the typical profile of a complete rig with mic'ed cab)
• DO Dummy Profile (feed from a load box or do box when a dummy load is connected to the amp's speaker output)
• DO Cab Profile (feed from a DO box when a speaker cab is connected to the amp's speaker output)
• Pre-amp Profile (feed from effects loop send or output of a pre-amp)
I know Kemper uses different names, but I think these are much clearer.
Then if you merge a studio and DO cab profile, you get a "Merged Profile". The merge process should automatically set the profile type tag.
Then we can add filters to Browse mode on the Kpa, to only see 1 of the 5 types of profiles.
