Should the Cab be totally bypassed when using monitor out?

Hi guys,

Apologies if this has been discussed before. I have my KPA setup with the cab disabled on the monitor out. When I run a studio profile there is still a noticeable change in sound if I disable the Cab block fully via the front panel of the KPA. The resulting sound can be more pleasing when running into a power amp and guitar cab but not always and you also use the ability to run to FOH with the main outputs if you do this.

I suppose my question is, is this expected behaviour? What am I missing?

Thanks, so just to clarify, it should be actually bypassed as if I'd switched off the cab button on the front panel?
