But the thrill is not gone... R.I.P.
R.I.P.
What a great guitar player he was. A legend. R.I.P
A sad day , he was the king of blues, Lucille is orphan now
I made a special rig a few months ago , an emulation of the 5 way switch , check the thread here
Sad day indeed - rip B.B. ... thanks for the inspiration - Grandmaster of the Blues!
Such a feel with only a few notes! Stayed for 89 years and will stay 100 years more in mind!
R.I.P. > a moment of silence for B.B. and a now silent "Lucille"
I first saw BB King when I was 13 years old at the Fillmore west.
A life changing experience.
Can you imagine what guitar playing would be like without BB?
I can't... don't want to.
Big loss to the guitar community!
RIP
His musical gift and legacy to all of us will live on forever. He lived a good life, was loved by many, always remained a true gentleman and could he ever play the blues. Godspeed and God Bless Riley Blues Boy King...
I read an article from a guitar tech who was measuring Lucille for a reproduction and he said the tension on that thing was very hard. When he talked to BB and others of his generation he began to realize that most guitars from years ago had hard strings and so only the dedicated few would go through the torture of learning guitar to stick with it out of love.
BB was one of those rare guys who stuck with it. A real champ.
