a friend dropped by yesterday and brought his Mark V with him. I made some profiles of all three channels in three modes plus some original John Petrucci settings I found in the www.

Hi, checked out the rigs. First loaded the jp clean rig. Fantastic! A delay and a chorus on it , my jp 6 piezzo on and Pull me under from petrucci arrives.
Next the chrunch one. Scooped the mids a little, a tap delay with 92,5 bpm, reverb and ready is the warm chrunch sound of scarred from dream theater, love this one!! It takes 100sec. to tweak it.
JP3: Fat and powerfull, but a little to ????crisp??or harsh? don't know the right word. I changed the cab to a 2x12 from deadlight studios.....much better!!!Scooped the mids like jp do, and a fat rythm sound is mine.

Can't wait to try these out! I made a couple Mark V patches which I really like using the Cab Clone (feel free to search on the exchange for them) but I'm still looking for my sounds for my upcoming album; I know I want it to be Mark V, too.

I´m not very familiar with Mesa amps in general. I´m always surprised how they have to be tweaked precisely to sound great. You can make them sound like poo easily.
Compared with for example Diezel or Bogner amps, which (almost always) sound great whatever you set them to, thoses Mesa Mark amps behave quite bitchy 
You better take notes of your favorite settings!
Nevertheless great amps with awesome tones for sure!
