If I order a remote do they just pre-auth my card and actually charge once shipped?
Also I see a lot of people having issues with their remote in past threads - should I wait a while or use an alternative until these issues are ironed out?

I've not had any problems with my Remote. Older threads may have written about previous versions of the software, or they may have been user issues more than hardware/software issues.
Had my remote for a couple weeks now with no problems here. Did order in January though, so it took quite some time. They didn't charge my account until the order was confirmed and just before it shipped. I think they still are saying 90 days wait, that is the last I thought I read on the forums. Good luck!
I ordered on 20 March and still haven't got a confirmation yet. Seems they are still considerably backed up.
