I just bough an old Atomic Reactor Passive cab.
I connected a speaker cable from the Monitor Output on the Kemper to the input on the cab.
The sound I'm getting is has nothing to do with sound I get with headphones: it's dark, quiet, distorted, sounds fake and it's terrible.
I believe the problem is in my output settings, but I can't figure out what.
Can you help me?
What output setting should I try?
Need help with Power Rack and Atomic Cab

With the old Atomic Reactor cab I don't know what to recommend. Cab on or cab off, could be decent or not.
It's a fairly neutral speaker but not really FRFR.
If you don't like the results more on. -
The sound is very very quiet, and distorted: nothing like the sound I'm hearing through the headphones of the same profile.
It's sounds worst than the amp sims in the Boss GT-5 I had 15 years ago.

Make sure you don't have the cab disabled in your output settings for the monitor out.
-
@tiagogtr - don't you have to use the "speaker output" on the powered Kemper to go to a passive cab? If you are using the monitor out to a passive cab, that is your problem.
This! The powered output is the red one!

Thank you alwainwright and sambrox.
It sounds better. Still sounds bad (I think it's the cab fault) but better than it did.

I've found that it's best to dial in profiles while listening through whichever monitors or headphones you'll be using. What sounds great through one may not work as well with something else. I have (sort of) duplicate profiles that are specifically EQed for headphones and my monitors. Effects will also sound different through headphones than they do through a monitor or speaker cab, which is another good reason to have a second set of profiles.

If it's a case of EQ, use the Monitor Out EQ in the Output section to adjust for your cab.

Although it isn't as noticeable on this file as it is in life, here it is a sound clip that shows the difference between the sound I'm getting in my headphones/direct out to the computer and the sound I'm getting with the Atomic cab: same guitar, same MBritt profile.(1st part is direct/headphones, 2nd part is cab).I think I hate this cab.

It was recorded with the Ipad mic.
If anything, it sounds darker and less edgy live: I prefer the Ipad recorded tone. -
When the direct/headphones clip was recorded direct and the cab one with the iPad mic there's no way to compare the 2 clips correctly.
-
What I'm trying to demonstrate is what I hear in the room with the cab, and how much different (and to me, worst) the tone is.
The tone coming from the direct signal is present and crunchy, and tho tone coming from the cab is cleaner, muffled, and close to a Line6 Pod. -
But when they were recorded so differently there's no way to compare them properly.

This is the best I can do for now:
1st part: direct recording
2nd part: cab with the mic on centimetre from the grill clothExternal Content soundcloud.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. Yep, the cab sounds undefined like with a blanket all over.
You can compensate with monitor output EQ to some extent.
How is commercially recorded music sounding through the cab?
Personally I'd move on and sell the FRFR.
Go for a DXR 10 instead. -
First of all, thank you Ingolf for all your help so far.
let me just ask you this: why the Yamaha instead of the Atomic CLR? -

You're welcome!
Well I mentioned the DXR 10 because lots of users incl. me are very content with it.
And it wouldn't be that much more expensive.
The CLR would be premium class but not in any use case superior to the CLR.
IMO. -
I'm new to this digital world, but I have the powered rack: should't I get a passive speaker?
