Hi!
Don´t know if this has been discussed before but I would very much like to see a plugin that I can use in Pro Tools to control the different parameters in the Kemper. This would make things so much easier if I can choose my rigs and automate different parameters from my computer and save them individually for each song i record.
A plugin that controls the Kemper from your DAW!

Hi,
It has been requested many times before, but one more time won't hurt. ☺ -

I can see it would be very useful to have a plugin to store the rig and settings used, a bit like the eleven rack does. I often go back to a track I recorded a few weeks ago and have completely forgotten which rig and what settings I've used, and left no notes on it.
So yes this would be cool and useful.

I want a Kemperplugin like the VirusPlugin. Just using the hardware like a VST. For Automationpurposes this would be great.
Imagine following:
YOu have your liveset running with Cubase (or similar) with a clicktrack for the drummer, the maintrack with backings for the pa and maybe some automations for your other synthhardware like.... the virus or so.
And a controllertrack for the kemper. Why not.A full functional 16parts controller (at the same time) like the virus is only imagination. The Kemper can only process ONE Guitar. In my tracks I need from 1 to 12 guitar tracks. So maybe you would need 12 Kempers. Or an advanced multitrackstudiokemper...hmmm... wait... nice Idea

In theory it is possible to do this with CTRLR vst plugin.
1. retrive all midi values from KPA (via LUA script ) - based on KPA editor thread
2. Save this to a preset dump.
(still you need to remember which profile was used)
But dedicated software from Mothership would be a much better solution.

+1I think there's some way to get the profile name, since I believe you can have two-way communication on a Liquid Foot that includes the name on the board's screen.

We are simply requesting here: VST Rig Editor

This would be fantastic as a concept.
On a practical level, I'm wondering how it would work? I'll typically have several guitar tracks on a single song. All of these guitar tracks would be done by the Kemper.
I guess it's a case of having this editor VST on each track? When you change to that track, the VST talks to the Kemper and selects the profile you used last time so as you can correct the inevitable mistakes / do the new idea you've got / just plain start again because with fresh ears it's not what you wanted
If it could work like this, it would certainly be a really nice feature IMO

Now you're talking about "dual amps" or so You create 2 tracks in your DAW, you put Kemper VST editor onto each track. You set Marshall on track one and Mesa on twack two and GO!

No, I wasn't thinking about re-amping actually
Just the ability to recall the Kemper settings 'per track'. So the actual audio on the track would already be processed by whatever profile I recorded. Multiple instances to re-amp wouldn't work unfortunately - if it can't do it in real time, it can't do it re-amping because that (kind of) is real time too
-
You mean recalling rig parameters like amp used, cab used, fx used, amp's, cab's and fx's parameters, other options like PureCab settings?
-
I like the idea of saving everything in relation to recorded tracks, but there are hurdles. For this to make sense in the long term one would have to store copies of the rigs used within the data stored by the DAW/plugin. You would otherwise risk that the user has deleted the actual rigs used by the next time (s)he wants to work on the same track. This has consequences for the use of purchased rigs.
-
Yep, the per-track plugin should store a copy of the track rig in a selected folder on the computer by default.
-
There is no need to wait for part of this idea:
You can save copies of the rigs used in the song's project folder now.
