The gear your Kemper replaced

  • Electric Rig:
    Mesa Boogie Express 5:25
    Fender Blues Jnr. Ltd Edition
    TC Electronic G-System
    Radial Hot British
    EHX English Muff'n
    Suhr Crimson Riot
    EXH Biff Muff

    Acoustic Rig:
    Morley Little Alligator
    Boss RC20XL
    Akai Headrush II
    Boss TU-2

All still happily sitting in the studio but rarely used. Can't bring myself to get rid of the pedal, or the amps.

  • Mesa Boogie Roadster & 4x12 cab, sold it for half the price I bought it in 2007. That paid the powered KPA, but not the Red Sound cab which I shoud receive in the next weeks. Got rid of a Boss TU-2 also.

in the end it's money out and pleasure back

  • Marshall Valvestate, H&K Tubemeister 18 Combo; Tubethomsen Cab (2x12'' Greenbacks);
TC 4x Flashback, Flanger/chorus, Dunlop Crybaby, EHX Blackfinger, English Muff, Sideband, Cathedral, Wah etc, Sometimes if I'm lazy I'll just put 'em back in front of the amp...

Replaced by Kemper powertoaster, and Matrix FR212, good combination.

    Kemper = Peace ^^

  • ÷13 RSA31
    ÷13 Switchazel
    ÷13 Joyride
    ÷13 Dyna-Ranger
    TC G Major2
    TC Flashback
    Sweetsound Mojovibe
    Option5 Destination Phase
    Teese RCM
    Radial Headbone Amp Switcher
    Barber TonePress Compressor

After saying goodbye to these 'ol friends, i still have some more gear to purge,
but to stay on topic of this thread, the above is what the Kemper is replacing.
(so difficult to let some of these items go, but as i learn the Kemper, and the brilliant engineering keeps evolving, improving, and adding more, and more=Kemper JackPot!!!)

Edited once, last by zamar ().

  • Mesa Boogie caliber 50
    Marshall Acoustic R80
    H&K Tubemeister 36 Combo
    Roland Cube 80 (uups )
    Line 6 Variax-Guitar incl. Pod3 XT-live
    1 Full pedal board
    Zoom A3 Acoustic remodeling.

And I could use now a smaller car ;)

  • Not realy replace my lovely Koch amp, but I bought it for less to carry around and direct outputs!! I had a Mesa mini for a short time, but it did not get me enaugh power at cleans.. so I bought the Kemper and a DXR

  • Replaced my whole main gigging rig except my 4x12, which was:

    Engl Invader
    E9 midi footswitch
    Digitech hardwire delay
    Zakk Wylde overdrive
Crybaby modded for touch and true bypass
    Digitech Whammy
Hotplate (used for Whammy to make true bypass)
    MXR EVH phaser
Loop pedal for true bypass (for non true bypass pedals)
    Pitch black tuner

My pedal board was embarrassingly massive!
Ran a clump of wires to amp ( midi cable, send and return, guitar input, power) which was messy and horrible.

Now I just have Rack KPA, remote with one wire and 3 expression pedals...if I can get rid of the 4 x12...utopia! Yeah baby!

  • I'll be the black sheep.
It hasn't replaced my gear, exactly. It's a matter of convenience for me.

When I have very little room to set up or it's a small room, I use the Kemper.
When I'm lazy, I use the Kemper.
When I have a large area, I always use my Mesa Mark V.

The gear I would normally use besides the Kemper includes the Mesa Mark V head, 2 1x12 cabs, a pedal board or TC Electronic G Major 2 + MIDI controller.

In either case, I still need either the GR-55 or Fishman Tripleplay when we play trio gigs.

The key to everything is patience.

+ TOO MANY PEDALS TO MENTION

all pretty much sitting in the corner gathering dust ............

  • I still have all my tube amps and have no plans to get rid of any, in fact I have bought a few since. We have no idea what the Kemper future holds or what other products might come our way but I still enjoy my tube amps.
I like the versatility of the Kemper but sometimes the simplicity of a tube amp and guitar is all I need.

This is the first modelling style amp I have been happy with, I save the wear and tear on my tube amps.

  • Yikes! That is a serious run-down of some serious gear.
