Thinking of jumping back in - what to expect?

Hi,

I had a Kemper a while back, got rid of it maybe a little before firmware 2.0 - liked the recorded tones but didn't really didn't dig the FRFR thing too much (tried Q12A + CLR) - i see a lot has gone on in the firmwares since ive had one - would be mainly using it through a Freyette Powerstation into various cabs, and studio monitors at home. Ive seen a couple of video's of someone using this setup (powerstation). So with the whole 3.0, better seperation between amp and CAB should i expect much better experience?

Any improvements on the effects in that time? would likely stick to the stomp boxes i have, so not a major issue

profiles which are now made as a merged profile can have the cab removed 100% so this will suit your situation very well. I think if you jump back in you will love all the new little features since 2.0

And of course there's PURE CAB now which makes an FRFR cab sound stunningly like a guitar cab.

Ah, if only I had an FRFR, but I guess it should help with the sound\feel through headphones a little?
So are the effects pretty much the same as before? as above, note a deal breaker for me as have some decent pedals, but am curious

When did Pure CAB come in and how do you apply it to existing Rigs? I'm on an older firmware......would only want to change to the most bug free firmware that supports that......

It came in at 3.0.
You find PureCab in the output menu.

The thought has crossed my mind as well. I was ordering something else but I'm going to cancel it. I wonder if the pure cab piece would make that much of a difference through a decent FRFR. That was my issue previously.

You'll get different answers here but most users (incl. me) find PC a vast improvement to help FRFR cabs mimic the characteristics of a guitar cab.

Before PureCab I had a problem with getting sustained controlled feedback when I switched to FRFR. Now it's just like using a regular guitar cab. And as paults mentioned the harmony effects work very well.
