Matchless DC30 Channel 1 - CLEAN - STUDIO PROFILE ..... I think I got a good one :)

  • Hey all

Got a chance to do a Studio Profile of CH 1 of a colleagues DC30 with my 2 x 12 Celestion Cab.

And before anyone asks, Ch 2 [ the EF86 channel ] simply could not be useably profiled - no matter what we did, the Kemper just did [ does ] not like cranked power stage distortion .... which is a pitty because Ch 2 on these amps is heavenly ...... but anyway ....

    Go to Rig Exchange and search for " DC30 CH 1 " - uploaded today [ 17/11 ]

    - profiled with my Tele Bridge PU
    - the included stomps are my preferred stomps for this clean sound
    - all other settings are basically profile-stock and eq is basically flat
    - if you are using a HB, roll up the Definition
    - if SC and its too bright, roll down the Definition
    - Vol is set to -5 DB and Cab Vol is set to +8.7 DB ..... this was to matche with *my* other profiles so [ obviously ] adjust as needed

With my Tele and my CLR with the stomps on it basically sounds like a classic punchy and chimey AC30 but with a touch more body [ which is the Matchless trademark ].

I set up and EQ'd my rig as close/best as I could to Michael Britt's similar profiles ..... and I have to say, going back and forth between his clean AC30 / DC30 profiles I am pretty ecstatric and MB's are the best :)

    Hope people find it useful.

    Ben
