@db9091 then you should try my Mastercaster... FR tuner, swamp ash body, mahogony neck, carbon rosewood fretboard, over size Gibson frets, Dommenget pickups bridge and neck and reverse phase funkstrat. It was Matthias Jabs´ (Scorpions) stage guitar until about 2004 - signed but no number - Nice... ! I dithered for two weeks before buying it but am so pleased I did take the plunge. When he´s in Munich I pop by and ask him what the hell he´s doing in his store and you know what - he asks me the very same thing -dang!

The new one is in the middle. A Maybach.
How's the quality compared to say a Gibson Les Paul Standard? I've been looking at them as an alternative, but I don't have any dealers near.

Good question, i would also like to know.
The thing i noticed is that all their Les pauls have a two piece back. Not a deal breaker, but i just can't understand why they don't make a one pice body.

I assume a one piece body is entirely for the aesthetics. Sonically I can imagine a multi-piece being superior. but it would look like hell unless done by an artist.
makes you wonder if anyone has done this. i.e. jig-saw LP body

all LPs I've seen have a 2-piece body, including mine -
Owned this for about 24 hours didnt like it so I sold it to fund my next head.

all LPs I've seen have a 2-piece body, including mineMost USA Gibson Les pauls I have seen and played don't, except for the Studio les pauls of course (those sometime have three or more body pieces).
Even mid priced Tokais MIJ come with a one piece body.
I find a weird choice these guys (maybach) don't make their les pauls with a one piece body.I mean, they are supposed to be Boutique alternatives to Gibson Les Pauls. They look great and have some good specs(and they aren't cheap, almost 2000 Euros in Thomman if I'm correct), so to me it seems like a weird decision.
Maybe they do that to cut costs? But as I said, even mid priced Tokais have a one piece body so it's probably not that.
These guitars have peaked my interest, but there's little to none information of them on the internet(they seem to be handmade in the Chech Republic, which I guess it's a good thing since it's a country known for instrument craftsmanship).

Here are my 2 newest guitars. I kinda went on a shopping spree these past few weeks.
Saw these two PRS's and had to have them.
Whale Blue Custom 22 and a Black Gold Custom 24 Floyd Rose.
They go well with my Taylors. -

AFAIK LP studios have a 2 piece body (can't tell the wood names in english), LP std have a 3 piece body with and additional top wood layer and customs have another additional layer at the back (but the inner 2 piece could be 1, I don't know this).
mine is a 3 piece std and sounds great. gibsons don't sound the same, each one is different. when I grabbed the one I own, I knew it would be this one

So it arrived!!!
I don't think my work colleagues were particularly happy with me being behind today after swapping out the pick guard, haha!

Thinking of getting a guitar from these guys maybe the Mayer Strat. What are your initial thoughts about the guitar?
Thanx

@johnboy10 It only arrived a few hours ago and needs a proper set up, but for the price, it's nice. Need to hear it through an amp, but that'll be tomorrow (match is on tonight )
