I appreciate the thought, but there's no wife here. Still young enough to live with my parents, in fact. :")
Cripes!
Savour it while you can, brother.

Interesting the way the bridge is so far forward, I guess to reduce the scale length. Can't help thinking that that was a philosophy got wrong, since the fret lengths are just as difficult for a young person to stretch/reach as on a standard Gibson guitar. @Alfi27 how much does the guitar weigh?
At least bending will be easier...
The scale lenght is the standard 24,75" and it is a full sized guitar, hehe. It was called the Junior because it doesn't have as much bells and whistles as a Les Paul Standard for instance, and the simplicity and status as a straight forward rock n' roll axe is probably why it is still popular today. It was not particularly pointed at "juniors". The guitar weighs right over 3kg. I already have a singlecut Junior and it is an awesome guitar!

S'funny. It must have been the angle of the photo that confused me... I think I need more sleep...
It might be the wrap around tailpiece/bridge combo throwing you. Imagine another dedicated tailpiece sitting a couple inches back and it might look more traditional in scale.
Love the guitar BTW.

Me too! Yes, the tailpiece did throw me...
Yamaha PAC 611. Loved the color. Didn't realize I would love the playability and tones it produces as much. Very impressed with it!

A soapbox at the neck and a Humbucker at the bridge on a long scale neck.. I wonder what her tonal range is????
For Gary.
Here are not my latest ones. Just uploaded these two chics, because Gary asked for the Jem.
The 777fp is from 1988 and i bought her in desolate condition. She's fitted by a cool luthier, frets are new polished, a new dimarzio evolution in bridge position (hard to get in pink, bought it in the UK), the tremolo was in bad condition and a repaired it piece by piece. After repairing she is a killer. The neck feels like velvet, and the paf in neck position sings. In position 4 of the pu switch you reach the awesome clean tone which you expect from a jem. Here some of steves clean tunes and you know what i mean. Everytime when i pick her up to play it feels like comming home, because of the neck and the awesome fretwork from my luthier.
The white one is the standard jem v7wh that steve uses this time. Also a brilliant guitar, but when have to decide between the two , i would't always choose the jem fp (sorry white lady). Both tremolos are absolute stable and you can bend without loosing tune for a long time. Both sound best when you have very new strings on.

Very cool Frank! I love the floral arrangement - has a chinese lacquer look which is charming - a real wolf in sheep´s clothing...
That really is a "gem" Frank, thanks for sharing. (I wasn't trying to hijack anyone's thread either - you had shown your guitars on that thread, just responded to that.) I wonder if I can get my hands on one of these beauties?

OK so Bert hijacked his own thread. Bad Bert! LOL
Germany IS just around the corner from the US, you're right. Actually I'll be playing near the Hague in 2 weeks, sorry too many rehearsals, won't have time to make it for that beer, but thanks for the offer!

Hi, chinese lacquer look is a good descritption. Never heard that someone compared it to this.
But it's a special technic behind it. They put the curtains from steve vais living room on the guitars (steve is telling that in some vids) and then they put trasnsparent laquer on it to have a closed finish.
If you are near in front of the guitar you can see the pores of the textile.
Late in the 90th (curtain textile was empty) the tried to recreate the design with a print medium, but those guitars are not looking like the early ones and they havent sold them so succsessful. I am very happy to own this "wolf".
Ah, and i am sorry , i have to correct the building date. The serialnumber is F892938 and after a look in the "guitar dater project" i get the information that the guitar is from 1988. So i am happy that i can say she's on of the first release.
Cheers
Frank
