  • I didn't touch anything since it came - is there any setting, that allows bending? Anyway staying in tune all the time compensates lack of the bending for me.

I don’t own an Evertune and have never played one, but it’s to do with the regular tuners. You tune up and up until the strings just go sharp, then you back it off until it returns to pitch. Now you can bend, but it will still keep tune. :)

Yes of course, otherwise I wouldn't be able to play this

Haha you need to fix this right away.

    1. Turn the TUNERS ON HEADSTOCK until the pitch starts to rise a little.
    2. Then turn them down just a notch so they are back in tune
    3. Then you should be able to bend/vibrate almost as a normal guitar.

  • Yep there is a huge MYTH around which some how is about the reasoning of ... because the wood is gone and how its set up that the tone is MASSIVELY effected, okay okay, it is changed BUT by an ASS hair from what i have seen and read. How big is an ASS hair? you tell me...cant be that big. Great bends and tone in there. Andy James also now with Kiesel is a shred machine that needs to do vibrato/bends and heavy..like CED do you think he would be playing if the tone was that BAD? :) I am getting one already fitted in with the EMG's 808's (always wanted to try them) in an ESP of cause :D

  • I have an ESP LTD single cut with an Evertune bridge and for chord jazz and rhythm work perfect pitch can't be beat. I have always had trouble with extended chords being in pitch. High gain sounds great also but it is not my pick for playing solos on.

This answers a few questions I had in my own mind about the Evertune...I've been eyeing up ESP's too, thank you for your thoughts.

  • Music Man Stingray Guitar - it is here!!

Wanted one since I heard about it in 2016.

Sorry for the bad pic - maybe better ones will follow after a setup to my needs. Have very little time today, but wanted to share
The neck is great - fits in my hands like a bottle of gluten free beer fits to the hands of @ashtweth

  • Gee, I didn't know they made a Stingray guitar, Tobi. Congrats mate.

I'm a huge fan of the Stingray basses, and they're all I own now apart from an old Cort I bought for practicing (which I've not used even once, but it felt good when I tested it).

Is there anything in common with the Stingray basses that caused the name to be shared?

Yeah, same father - Leo Fender
And this kind of chromed control played is often found on bass guitars. My father is a bass player and loves Stingrays too.

This EBMM guitar version here is an update of the original Stingray guitars from the 70's with new headstock and so on.

It has an african mahagony body, bolt on maple neck, stainless steel frets, locking tuners... so it's kind of retro design (with nice historical background) meeting the modern features of todays Music Man philosophy. They totally got me with that one

The "Cutless" model (more strat like version) is worth a look too - by the way.

  • Score! That looks classy, what type of music are you going to play on it?

  • I got my new guitar today, spent all afternoon setting it up, and I think I did a good job. Whammy stays in tune (it's a Schaller Floyd Rose), the neck is dead straight, and the action is crazy low with no fret buzz. I do good work ;)

Here is a clip that I recorded after getting the guitar. I realised after bringing it home that there's an issue with the volume knob being scratchy and cutting out at levels below maximum. Will take it to a tech to get that fixed. Hopefully it's just a loose connection.

This is one angry sounding guitar. First part of the clip is a mono stack signal, the second is a bit of soloing in stereo over the mono signal, and the third is a double tracked part.

Guitar is all stock and handles superbly. I can't get over how the neck is so narrow width-wise, but is a comforting C or D shape like a Fender neck. Tthe contour on the back for playing in the higher registers is amazing. I really love the stock pickups too, they have a beautiful wide open sound.

Can't wait to use it along with the Boden on future recordings. Definitely a keeper!

  • For the life of me, I can't figure out why people put strange stickers on guitars. The owner of the one I just bought also did the same - two stickers of the brand Apple and two of some cartoon characters I've seen but can't identify 8|

Still, the guitar was in remarkably good shape, no dings or scratches. Some guitar porn for one and all.

Just look at that styling of the neck pocket. Makes it really easy to get down to the 27th fret. I also find it crazy that there's no fret buzz with the action that low.

Anyone got any recommendations on how to get off those stickers? Luckily they're on the plates and not on the body.

  • Bit of industrial alcohol and they'll come right off, those Adventure Time characters. The Apple stickers should be easy enough to peel off, then you can use the alcohol to get rid of the glue residue.
