I bought a cheap used Jackson JS11 I could keep in my rehearsal in case I'm too lazy to bring my Solar
It's a totally ok guitar. It's hard to keep in perfect tune, probably because the combination of fairly weak/bendable neck and plastic nut... But then again, I'm used to Evertune so... I shouldn't expect more. But yeah, it's fine, and fun to play. I'm not gonna use it in studio or live anyway, so tuning stability isn't super important.

WHATS WITH THE BROKEN IMAGE INSERT FUNCTION?
Another guy above me seems to have the same issue!
I can see the picture when I'm editing the message, but not in preview or when posted!
EDIT: Trying with Tinpic instead of Imgur...

Hi There
Jackson used to be good guitars, i do not think that the neck is bendable but you can try other strings maybe 0.9mm
or have you seen this piece:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hipsh…lUAAOSw0W5aANOf:rk:3:pf:0
it is a tremsetter and it helps to get your floyd rose in tune
kind regards,
Claudio

Please dont assume me for a beginner when it comes to guitars
And at least look at the picture before coming with irrelevant suggestions... It doesn't have a Floyd Rose...

ok
i did not assumed that,
also i did not had certain it had a floyd, my screen is small i will look that further, anyway, since you are experient, you should have inspected the trust rod either so glad that you will have some use for it at your studio
regards.

Well if I say the neck is weak and bendable, I say that because I know it, not because I'm a beginner at guitar setups or whatever.
I have compared it to my other guitars and the pitch shifts more when I'm bending the neck on this guitar than my Warmoths, Solar, Barrington, Fender etc etc.
It's a a WEAK neck. And plastic nut doesn't help with tuning stability.
Doesn't really have anything to do with truss rod adjustments. The first thing I did when I bought this used from a guy was to straighten the neck.

If you doubt my expertise in Floyd Rose setups you can watch my video below and you'll see that I know perfectly well how to setup guitars for GOOD tuning stability.

We have provided more information on this in our privacy policy. The cheap Jackson above simply has the following issues, just like I said:
A) weak neck
B) plastic nut
I could change the nut for a Graphtech or similar, and that would help, but nothing can help a weak neck.

Dude i did not doubt your expertise, i just did not know that it was so deep.
But i had good experience with Jackson in the past... that is why i asked about that trust rod...
After my worktime i will watch the full video thanks!

This is the LOWEST level Jackson possible, I never expected it to be good to begin with
I've had a japenese Jackson RR24 in the past that kicked ass, super stable neck. I just wasn't down with the Rhoads V shape, I'm a superstrat guy all the way.

I have the same guitar (JS11) in black. I "locked" down the bridge with springs - and in this case also with washers under the height adjustment screws, as you can see on the picture below. This should last forever now The tuners are the weak point - I changed them for some Gotoh I had lying around. I also filed down the nut slots a bit. Yes the nut is cheap plastic, but my guitar stays in tune perfectly!! I just pulled it out of a bag after at least 6 weeks untouched to take the photo and it was still in tune (except low E about 3 cents to sharp). I have zero problems here (the neck is stable too ) and I am very sensitive to tuning issues.
It's the cheapest guitar I ever bought, but it is a serious and great sounding instrument - I even like the ceramic pickups on this one!
I recently changed the locking tuners on my Musicman Stingray guitar (just because I like a higher ratio when tuning up) and payed more for this tiny "improvement", than the Jackson JS11 did cost in total
Here is the pic with the bridge and the washers

Just because YOUR copy is good, doesn't mean MY copy is.
Jackson JS series are cheap for a reason: they don't put any thought into chosing the right parts for the neck.
My older Warmoth guitar has the absolute most stable neck I have: it goes to show that Warmoth really chose the right part when you custom order a neck from them.
However, I'm glad your works! I mean, I enjoy mine too for what it is, but when I say the neck is unstable: I say that because it IS.
And I've had a band coming by my studio to record and one of the guitarists had a Jackson JS11 too, with a very stable neck and good tuning stability. Thats why I thought "wow, this cheap guitar, this great neck????" and I went and bought a used one... My copy was way worse than his.
That's why it's cheap, you can't expect consistensy in their cheapest budget line.

Pelham blue ....? dig that quite a lot lot lot lot - and not nearly anemic am I right Monkey_Man ha?

A few months ago I got a new Steinberger Spirit GT Pro.
The original pickups' sound just was average, I replaced them with Seymour Duncan "Invaders" SH-8B / SH-8N. I don't need the middle pickup, so I removed it and placed a dummy there. The 5-way switch was replaced with a 3-way switch. As I also don't need the tone pot I removed this and covered the hole with a simple plastic cap.
Additional modifications: STADG06 Adapter for using standard strings (non double ball end) Daddario NYXL0946, Dunlop Straploks.
This one rocks!Rufus ?
Wyld Stallyns!?
Excellent...

Great name also haha!

No remembering about it as such - no goldfish syndrome here! Had similar thoughts on the EB colour when first saw it is all - just 'anemic' was such an apt word choice! Besides, wasn't it just a couple weeks back ? Easily impressed I see
