hard cases are so last century ?
seriously though, does anybody still ise them? I carry my prized possessions in a Mono gigbag at all times. My hard cases just lie around the house gathering dust.

Dear lord, the last thing I need is another HS case!
The rest of the clan is starting to adjust to the new puppy in da house...
I just put my guitars uncased and unbagged in the car seats. I mean, you wouldn't want to bag your wife, right? And a guitar is so much better.

well. It depends..
I love hard cases
I fullfilled the couch with a ''chromatic scale''
I hate how the fretboards are so dry on most guitars. I still can't believe this SG only weighs 6lbs, 4oz. Feels way too light! My les Paul feels like a sack of bricks compared to this. Now I remember why I loved my old SG so much.
I also installed a Callaham locking tailpiece studs. Changes the break angle so the strings do not contact the back of the bridge. Same affect as toing a top wrap over the stopbar...without doing a top wrap
I like they put a bench photo of your guitar at Gibson in the case
My fourth guitar build from scratch is done!
25.5" scale, ash body maple neck, flame maple top, ebony fretboard. EMG 85/60. Hand dyed, finished with oil.
Sound clip, had to do some 90's teenage nostalgia.

Man, I really like the look of the body's back.

Yeah ash has a nice open grain figure, I like how it looks with dye+oil finish. Went for a "logs from a pirate ship" or some other old worn piece of wood look with this one.

That's a fabulous build, man! Nice work!

Thanks man! Not perfect, but getting better. This was my second build with binding and taught me better ways working those. Heatgun for spaghettifying, acetone for adhesion and card scrapers for cleanup worked so much better than using CA glue and a razor.

Oh, had not tried acetone for plastic bindings. Nice tip. Learned something new...again. At this rate I'll be pretty smart one of these years.
