Depending on needs, I don't think it's necessary to commit to the big boys, as long as you DO commit For somebody doing simple mixing, editing and recording, many of the smaller daws will work perfectly fine.

That said, I just bought a Slate Raven MTI2 to improve the workflow in my DAW in the sense of a more immediate and effective experience.
When I talk about better committing to the big boys, Raven software supports Protools, Logic, Ableton Live, Cubase and Studio One from the start. Others will surely follow, but I'm not sure Harrison Mixbus will be one of them.
