Friedman ASM-12 or Yamaha DXR-10

  • I play a Frieman ASM12 and I have never been happier with my sound. I used to have a Yamaha DXR12 about two or three years ago. But soon I had the chance to buy a Atomic CLR second handed which sounded a bit better than DXR12. But I still preferred playing through my guitar cabs. I had a hard time getting used to playing FRFR.

In october I ordered a Friedman ASM12, and after trying it, I sold the CLR. The Friedman ASM12 has - in my opinion - more the feel of a real guitar cab than the Yamaha or the CLR and has a more powerfull sound when you play it at high volume.

  • I can't speak for the ASM12 which I never tried but there is a very large base of happy DXR10 users here. Most, as me, prefer it to the DXR12 because it give a more cabinet like feel. A lot of power on tap!

  • The ASM12 is 52 lbs - too heavy for my old back. I have a DXR10, and it sounds very good to me, and is 32 lbs ...
