I don't want to use the included cable that came with the remote. Will any run of the mill cat5e or cat6 work? The reason is I found one that is a right angle plug on one end, which will save me 2 inches behind my remote, not needing to leave clearance for a regular cable, let alone the Neutrik. I decided, that I'm going to need to leave my kemper amp on my pedal board, (and subsequently building a new board for that purpose and need every inch I can spare.
Will any cat5 cat6 work?

Generally any cable of decent quality will work. Make sure it's not longer than the one that came with your Remote, otherwise you'll need a power injector

Not anny cat 5. Only cat5 e. With à cat 5 the remote Will reboot when you change rigs.

Thanks, putting amp on pedal board so it's short

I lastly had a 5m cat 5e cable with minor quality (= very thin) which didn't function at all.
So for live-gigging I always use the factory-cable (though meanwhile the clip of the plug on the KPA-side is broken). -
The critical factors are the cable's length and thickness. The longer you want it, the thicker it has to be.
At home I work with an cheap 1,5 m cable I took from an old router. It works perfectly. At rehearsals I take with me a 3 m cat7 I bought on the Amazing for 7 €... again, no issues whatsoever.
I'll keep the original cable for big stages
